Biathlon: Elvira Öberg's Concerns – Significant Uncertainty Ahead of the World Championships
Originally published in SVT Sport on January 27, 2025
Elvira Öberg is facing a race against time to sharpen her form ahead of the World Championships. The biathlon star has not been able to resume training after last week’s cold.
Feeling frustrated, the 25-year-old told SVT Sport, "I'm starting to get tired of this; I've been sick for too long, and it's starting to affect my performance. It's been up and down."
She mentioned that missing competitions the previous weekend has made winning the overall World Cup seemingly impossible. "It’s really disappointing because it was something I was working towards, and I felt I had a good chance."
The World Championships in Lenzerheide kick off on Wednesday, February 12, and will be broadcasted on SVT.
