Biathlon: Ella Halvarsson after her victory in the Kontiolahti World Cup: "I haven't really come down to a pace"
Ella Halvarsson got the chance in the single mixed relay on Saturday along with Sebastian Samuelsson when Hanna Öberg was rested.
The duo made a stunning first-place finish in the World Cup premiere in Kontiolahti.
– It feels like I haven't really come down to a pace, Halvarsson told SVT Sport about the days that followed.
25-year-old Ella Halvarsson accompanied the national team to the World Cup premiere in Kontiolahti, a chance she embraced as Sweden unexpectedly won the single mixed relay alongside Sebastian Samuelsson.
She achieved four strong shooting performances before handing over to Samuelsson, who came in second behind France.
– There have been so many people reaching out and saying congratulations, it was really fun, Halvarsson told SVT Sport.
Hanna Öberg, who was likely meant to compete in the distance event, was rested due to illness.
