“Cruel” Biathlon Moment Echoes
The thrilling finale between Franziska Preuß and Lou Jeanmonnot is still captivating audiences, even on the side of the defeated French.
French Olympic champion Quentin Fillon-Maillet praised the high-quality competition, describing it as historic for the sport.
The Situation
The overall cup victory was decided in the last round between Preuß and Jeanmonnot. Fillon-Maillet highlighted that Jeanmonnot had more than enough reserves to take the lead, making it cruel for her after her fall just before the race’s end. “It's devastating. But that's sport,” he reflected on the dramatic moments.
Despite not winning the crystal globe, Fillon-Maillet believes both athletes are winners due to their phenomenal performance.
