Fredrik Mühlbacher delivered an outstanding performance at the Biathlon European Championship held in Martell, Italy. Competing in the 10 km sprint, the athlete from HSV Saalfelden clinched the bronze medal, finishing only 10.2 seconds behind the Norwegian race winner, Sivert Guttorm Bakken, and 6.6 seconds ahead of fellow Norwegian Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen.

This medal marks Mühlbacher’s second podium finish of the championship; he earned a silver in the 20 km individual event just days earlier. After his races, Mühlbacher described the day as the "best day of his career" and celebrated his 27th birthday with this well-timed success.

On the women’s side, the results were less favorable. Anna Andexer of SK Saalfelden finished in 19th place, Lea Rothschopf of SC Kuchl ended up 25th, and Kristina Oberthaler from USC Altenmarkt placed 35th. The pursuit events are scheduled to take place on Saturday, setting the stage for further excitement in the championships.
