Biathlon World Cup - Austrian Mixed Relay Surprises with 4th Place in Pokljuka!
The ÖSV mixed relay team has surprised everyone with a remarkable fourth-place finish in the last team event of the World Cup season in Pokljuka!
David Komatz, who had a strong finish in the final leg, helped the team significantly, though they finished over half a minute behind the leaders. The victory went to Sweden, who managed to secure their first team win in the World Cup.
In the single mixed relay, Lisa Hauser and Simon Eder finished seventh, marking the last podium place for Austria this winter, with their last podium being a third-place finish by the duo in Antholz on January 20, 2024.
Despite facing seven penalties during the race, the Austrian quartet managed to hold their own, and Komatz even overtook two competitors on the last lap. The Austrian season concludes next weekend in Oslo with three individual races.
