Next Medal for Preuß?

At the Biathlon World Championships in Lenzerheide, the women’s relay over 4x6 kilometers is on today’s program. Franziska Preuß is determined to climb back onto the podium as her team seeks another medal at these championships.

Franziska Preuß, Selina Grotian, Sophia Schneider, and Julia Tannheimer will compete in the relay starting at 12:05. Fans can follow the event live via TV (ARD, Eurosport), livestream (ARD, Joyn, DAZN), or the SPORT1 live ticker.

The German quartet – especially overall World Cup leader Franziska Preuß – is counting on a strong performance. With previous wins in Hochfilzen and Ruhpolding, the team has demonstrated excellent potential. Preuß, anchoring the relay, already boasts four medals at these championships, including gold in the pursuit, silver in the sprint, and bronze in both the mixed relay and the single mixed relay.

German starters are: • Franziska Preuß (Haag) • Selina Grotian (Mittenwald) • Sophia Schneider (Oberteisendorf) • Julia Tannheimer (Ulm)

A look back: The last German relay victory at the World Championships came in 2015 in Kontiolahti. Among the favorites for today’s race are Norway, Sweden, France, and Germany. In the 2024 Championships, the podium was secured by teams from France (Lou Jeanmonnot, Sophie Chauveau, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Julia Simon), Sweden (Anna Magnusson, Linn Persson, Hanna Öberg, Elvira Öberg) and Germany (Janina Hettich-Walz, Selina Grotian, Vanessa Voigt, Sophia Schneider).
