Biathlon - Voigt and Strelow in the Starting Relay
The German biathlon ensemble is gearing up for the World Cup in Kontiolahti, with Vanessa Voigt and Justus Strelow leading in the Single Mixed Relay. The competition kicks off on Saturday, featuring both a Mixed Relay and the Single Mixed event.
According to the German Ski Association (DSV), the duo is poised to perform well, building on their previous victory in this format at Antholz last season.
The mixed relay is set to be led by Franziska Preuß, who is optimistic after recovering from surgery last season. Alongside her will be Johanna Puff, Danilo Riethmüller, and Philipp Horn.
Experienced Athletes
The men's team, following the retirement of Benedikt Doll, relies on experienced athletes to secure top positions. The women's team, with younger participants, aims for significant growth and experience-building opportunities.
DSV's preparations highlight the contrasting experiences of both teams but keep a strong focus on the potential of younger female athletes. The anticipation for competitive placements is high, especially looking forward to showcasing during this World Cup season.
