Biathlon Shock: ‘Not Good Enough!’ Norwegian Cutthroat Selection

In a shocking move within Norway's biathlon team, Johannes Dale-Skjevdal, who finished third overall in last season's World Cup, has been cut from the team's lineup. This decision comes on the heels of his underwhelming performances in individual events held in Kontiolahti, where he placed 63rd in the individual race and 23rd and 21st in the sprint and mass start events, respectively.

Team manager Per-Arne Botnan expressed the brutal reality of the sport, stating that Dale-Skjevdal simply wasn't performing up to the team's standards. "Of course I want Johannes to show good results. He is likely the most disappointed in himself since he hasn’t been able to demonstrate his true potential," Botnan commented. The 27-year-old has had multiple races where he underperformed, leading to this difficult decision.

"This sport is harsh. It can be a lot of fun, but when things aren’t going well, it’s not very motivating," Dale-Skjevdal admitted, reflecting on his struggles. As he becomes a spectator for the World Cup, he remains hopeful for the future and what it holds for him in his career.
