Sebastian Samuelsson finished in fourth place in the mass start event. This came after a beginning where he and Émilien Jacquelin were not completely on the same page.

"We were disagreeing and trying to help each other out, " he told SVT Sport.

Samuelsson and Jacquelin started with flawless shooting in the 15 km long mass start in Ruhpolding. However, they were then not entirely in agreement on who should lead the chase pack.

In the third shooting, Samuelsson had one miss and Jacquelin had two misses. The victory went to the Italian Tommaso Giacomel, while Samuelsson finished fourth and Jacquelin eighth.
