In the Kontiolahti World Cup event, the Austrian women's biathlon team achieved a fifth-place finish. The team comprised Dunja Zdouc, Anna Gandler, Lea Rothschopf, and Lisa Hauser, who combined their efforts to finish with a total of seven reloads during the race. As the final runner, Hauser made up two positions during the last shooting segment; however, they were still nearly two minutes behind the leaders, preventing them from contesting for a podium spot. The competition ultimately saw Swedish and French teams taking the top positions. Hauser expressed satisfaction with their performance, stating, "Finishing fifth in the first relay of the season is really cool and certainly gives us confidence and motivation for the upcoming competitions." The team is looking forward to the individual events starting in Finland on Tuesday.
