The quartet consisting of Wilma Anhaus, Anna Andexer, Thomas Marchlund, and Fabian Müllauer faced a total of ten reloads and even fought for silver until the last stretch. In the end, anchor runner Fabian Müllauer crossed the finish line very appropriately in third place with a delay of 18.5 seconds. Gold went to the German team.
Anna Andexer rejoiced: "The race was really great today. I had a super day and went through with zero mistakes at the shooting range, which is simply really cool for me. I felt great physically as well and matched the Swede all the way. Winning this medal and being able to defend it from last year is simply genius."
Anchor runner Fabian Müllauer echoed his colleague: "That was a really cool race today. I felt a bit of pressure because Wilma, Anna, and Thomas delivered a really good run, and I wanted to bring the medal home. Thank goodness I hit the reload straight away when lying down, but my last shot standing was a bit shaky. It's even more beautiful now that I hit it and we won the medal."
