Biathlon Juniors - Superstar Andexer Storms to Gold in Sprint
Gold for Austria! The Austrian biathlon talents continue to excel at the Junior World Championships in Östersund. After clinching bronze in the mixed relay, Anna Andexer achieved a remarkable victory in the sprint, finishing ahead of Sweden's Sara Andersson and France's Amandine Mengin.
Anna Andexer crowned herself the junior world champion during the event in Östersund, demonstrating poise at the shooting range despite challenging weather conditions. After an impeccable prone shooting round, only one target remained standing during the standing shoot, and she maintained a remarkable pace on the course, outpacing Andersson, who had one penalty, by 8.9 seconds.
This victory further solidifies Andexer's reputation as a formidable competitor in international events; she had previously won bronze at the Youth Olympic Games and gold in two events at the Junior European Championships. With this latest win, she has proven to be a rising star in the biathlon world.
