Biathlon: Dark Day for Ponsiluoma – Ten Misses and Last Place: "Skiing Event"
It was not a pleasant ending to the competition weekend for Martin Ponsiluoma.
The 29-year-old had ten misses and came in last place.
– It was a shitty competition, says a frustrated Ponsiluoma to SVT Sport.
Things are not going well for Ponsiluoma this season. During Sunday’s mass start in France's Le Grand Bornand, it culminated as the 29-year-old finished last while also missing ten targets.
– It starts poorly, and I'm behind all the time, so it gets tough, really tough, says the Swede to SVT Sport.
The biathlon star believes he couldn't recover after four missed shots, noting that it was "bad across the board." Ponsiluoma can't identify why he's in such poor form.
– It's hard to say, it was a shitty competition.
Sebastian Samuelsson was the best-performing Swede, coming in tenth. Norwegian Tarjei Bö claimed victory.
