Biathlon: Concerns Grow for Superstar Tandrevold

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold fell short during the individual race in Kontiolahti after leading for a significant period. She ultimately suffered a major setback, losing over a minute to the eventual winner, Lou Jeanmonnot of France.

Tandrevold disclosed that she experienced significant heart issues during the race, affecting her shooting performance and slowing her down on the skis. "At the second shot, I had a small problem with my heart, making it difficult to shoot, and I took quite a while," she explained to Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

These problems are not new for Tandrevold. In 2022, she collapsed after the pursuit race during the Olympics and was unable to compete further. Currently, she has attempted coping strategies to manage these health concerns, although they proved ineffective during this race. "I tried to apply the tips I learned to make it stop, but today that did not work well," she said after the race.

Despite the challenges, she had to pause during the race, resulting in a significant loss of time. The World Cup continues in Kontiolahti with the women's sprint on December 7.
