Linn Gestblom, the talented 30-year-old biathlete, is diligently working her way through recovery following two shoulder surgeries. When asked about her preparations for upcoming competitions, Gestblom remarked, "Everything before Christmas is a bonus, but this is all speculation." Her second surgery took place in February, aimed at treating a persistent shoulder injury. Currently, she is focused on her rehabilitation journey.

"Everything is going according to plan, and it's encouraging to see progress," she shared with SVT Sport. "Having gone through two operations, I can compare the experiences. This recovery is proving to be more challenging; I've been experiencing increased pain and stiffness. Though progress isn’t always visible day-to-day, overall, things are proceeding well," she noted.

Gestblom understands that she will need several more months before she’s ready to compete again. She anticipates modifying her training regimen and load-bearing activities. "It’s still a work in progress," she admitted candidly.

While it might be too early to set a definitive date for her return to competition, Gestblom's primary aim remains to regain full function of her shoulder. She expresses hope for competing in the winter season, striving to deliver strong performances. The success of her comeback hinges on her rehabilitation progress, although she remains mindful of the potential for unforeseen setbacks.

Linn Gestblom possesses an impressive resume, including six World Championship medals, two Olympic medals, and three individual podium finishes in the World Cup.
